The week in blogging... 4/22/07

I had another week of not really keeping up with my blogs that I like to read so here is a weeks-end recap of what happened around West Virginia with the folks who blog.

- From Appalachian Greens comes this great fable about a fox and a henhouse that mirrors the Gonzales hearings (I'm so glad that dubya thinks he's doing a great job). Also check out this post about the recent flap over the Mullens decision by the WV Supreme Court.
- Balloon Juice has a post that is aptly titled "Why President Bush Irritates People" that was a pretty good read.
- I really enjoyed BearWaller Hollar's musings about age appropriate body art and adornment.
- John over at Birds Etcetera had a great post about a side effect of feeding songbirds in your back yard (we used to watch raptors snag pigeons from our downtown office in Akron man).
- Cyrus from Blogging for Burgers is currently blogging from Africa!
- Anathema Device has posted some great pictures on Carpe You Some Diem! from her recent visit to the Palmetto State.
- I was amused by Cat's tale of the mechanics of a good book burning.
- Charles has offered up his secret of how to cook ramps on his Charlestonian Blog.
- Hoyt has posted some hilarious "Contrarian Blogger Rules" on Donutbuzz.
- The Film Geek is blogging from his vacation about when "Scooby Doo" jumped the shark (I agree that it was the addition of Scrappy Doo ... much like Cousin Oliver on "The Brady Bunch).
- The Goat Rope has a very good post about the dangers of privatizing the government sector.
- Hillary from Heart of Glass recommends gifts for Secretaries Day this coming Wednesday (can you guess what she is suggesting as a gift?).
- Hillbilly Savants has some pretty comprehensive coverage of the Virginia Tech shootings and some VPI stories that you might not have seen yet.
- JDB shares some tales at Infinity Ranch like this one about putting your money where your mouth is ... and this one about putting your mouth where your money is (or something like that).
- The always hilarious Rebecca of J and C and Me tells this funny story of her adventures with power tools and later with a pair of scissors (and we finally see what she looks like ... after her snip-fit). :-)
- Josh Perdue has fun with Fruity Pebbles.
- The Laughing Gypsy asked "What five questions would you ask which, when answered, would most completely reveal the essence of a person's being?"
- According to Lincoln Walks At Midnight Senator Byrd will try to stay in the Senate one more term ... discuss.
- Muze Euterpe, one of my few libertarian friends, speculated that Mountaineers Will Never Be Free as long as we're taking federal handouts (me thinks she won't be voting for Senator Byrd).
- Occasional Blog has posted one of the most comprehensive posts about guitar picks that I've ever seen.
- Rick Lee continues to post amazing photos.
- At the risk of being redundant here ... Paledaddy ponders the meaning of "full confidence" as the Prez seems to use it.
- Sharon of s.m.ART has been busy creating lots and lots of art in addition to becoming a radio personality (try not to follow the example of Imus sweetie).
- Chris James has decided to copycat me on A Sour Apple Tree ... that no good bastage! ;-)
- Barbie Girl tried to cut her finger off on a slicer (I'm glad you're back to blogging BG ... I missed ya).
- WV Girl, Sarah Cooper, wrote this intensely personal blog post that is a must-read.
- The West Virginia Blogger shares 20 Things You Didn't Know About Death.

Comments:
Thanks, and I didn't emulate Imus (I hope)-- I realized I love radio. Only when I'm on it, of course. ;)

Thanks for the wrap-up... this is useful!

Do you honestly think that you were the first person to ever be too lazy to do a real post and just post some links?

Kinda like Milton Berle accusing someone of stealing a joke, ain't it?

Wakka wakka wakka! Thanks for not minding my mea culpa post guys.

Thanks for the linky!

I also enjoyed lots of other blogs I haven't visited before.

You need a few more "liberatarian friends".

But thanks for the plug. I'll return the favor soon. (I hope.)

LOL
